WATCH: Zelensky Rebukes Trump and ‘F*cking Terrorist’ Putin in Fiery Appearance on Meet the Press
Volodymyr Zelensky set off the censors while reaffirming his defiance of Vladimir Putin and the Russian military.
Zelensky spoke with NBC’s Kristen Welker on Sunday’s Meet The Press — where he rejected the notion put forth by Ukrainian General Valery Zaluzhny that Ukraine is locked in a stalemate with Russia’s invading military forces. As Welker asked Zelensky “what keeps you going” through the war to stave off feelings of defeat, Zelensky replied in English, saying “I have a lot of power…And I have a lot of energy.”
“It doesn’t mean that we want to fight all our lives, because the price is high, like I said. Because the war takes the best of us,” Zelensky said. “But we are not ready to give our freedom to this f*cking terrorist, Putin. That’s it. That’s why we are fighting.”
As the Israel-Hamas War became the latest focus of international conflict in the past month, Zelensky asserted that Russia is backing Hamas and helping other rogue nations fuel chaos in the region. He also once again cast doubt on Donald Trump’s claim that he could end the war, even as the former American president continues to insist that Ukrainians wouldn’t have died if the 2020 election wasn’t “rigged against him (it wasn’t).
“I will need 24 minutes… to explain to President Trump that he can’t manage this war,” Zelensky said. “He can’t bring peace because of Putin. If — but always there is an “if.” If he’s not trying and if he’s not ready to give our territory to this terrible man, to Putin, if you are not ready to give it, if you are not ready to give our independence, he can’t manage it.”
