‘You Can Deflect All You Want’: Harris Faulkner Lights Up Guest Dumping on Trump After She Asks About Biden ‘Elder Abuse’

Fox News’ Harris Faulkner and Democratic strategist Fred Hicks clashed on air after Faulkner equated public appearances by former President Joe Biden to “elderly abuse.”

On Friday’s edition of The Faulkner Focus, Hicks and former U.S. Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley joined Faulkner to react to Biden’s interview the previous day on The View. In the chat, Biden chalked up former Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 election loss to sexism, and insisted that he would have beaten President Donald Trump had he stayed in the race himself.

“Look, I don’t say this and any other way than to be delicate it looks like elderly abuse to have him out there it looks unfair at this point he’s not doing well and he’s not helping his party,” Faulkner said in reaction to Biden’s interview.

Hicks argued Biden is the “wrong thing” to focus on and people should instead be concerned with Trump’s deportation policies, accusing the president of not adhering to “due process” when deporting migrants accused of gang-related activity to an El Salvadoran megaprison.

“If we’re going to talk about decline and we’re gonna talk about lapses, I think we need to talk what happened just about five days ago when the current sitting president couldn’t determine whether or not Americans and people are entitled to due process,” Hicks said.

Faulkner tore into her guest for pivoting to Trump.

She said:

They are getting due process! I don’t know how often I have to say this on the show to Democrat guests, but you know what I would suggest to you? That you talk about your own party because that was the question. And you can deflect all you want, but parsing information over a hearing versus due process… parsing that so that you don’t have to talk about Joe Biden doesn’t make the fact that he is out there and, in some ways, getting better press and bigger attention, if you will, than the people that you would hope were paying attention on how to fix your party.

Hicks accused Trump of being “fixated” on Biden.

“Oh, come on,” Faulkner responded, bringing Smiley into the conversation.

Smiley accused Democrats of gaslighting Americans on the mental and physical state of the former president, who dropped out of the 2024 election after some in his own party questioned whether he had the capacity to win the race.

Faulkner turned back to Hicks and the pair clashed yet again on inflation under Trump versus Biden.

“So, Fred, who was running the White House?” Faulkner asked, accusing the former administration of a “cover up.”

“Listen, what we know is that we had tremendous job growth. We had tremendous economic growth,” Hicks said.

“Oh, wow,” a shocked Faulkner responded.

“We know that we were able to undo four years of Trumpism and cut the Trump inflation down. Now, that’s going to sound like a talking point, right? But the reality is—” Hicks said before Faulkner jumped in.

“Wait a minute,” she said. “Trump handed 1.4% inflation at the end of his first term and Biden took it up to more than 9%.”

“And then after his first run with the tariffs, even closer, he shot up,” Hicks interjected.

“It’s okay if you don’t want to answer my questions,,” Faulkner told him, “but you can’t have your own facts.”
