‘Bullsh*t With a B-U-L-L Capital B!’ Joe Manchin FUMES at Reporters Over Rumor He’s Considering Leaving Democratic Party
Senator Joe Manchin (D- WV) swiftly denied a report he is considering leaving the Democratic party.
Mother Jones reported Wednesday Manchin has been talking to associates about leaving the party.
In recent days, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) has told associates that he is considering leaving the Democratic Party if President Joe Biden and Democrats on Capitol Hill do not agree to his demand to cut the size of the social infrastructure bill from $3.5 trillion to $1.75 trillion, according to people who have heard Manchin discuss this. Manchin has said that if this were to happen, he would declare himself an “American Independent.”
The report set off a whirlwind of speculation (and skepticism) in Washington.
Manchin was asked by reporters about this and said rather bluntly, “I can’t control rumors, and it’s bullshit. Bullshit spelled with a B-U-L-L, capital B!”

Manchin is one of two moderate Democrats opposed to the Biden-backed spending bill, along with Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D- AZ).
The West Virginia Democrat met with Senator Bernie Sanders (I- VT) earlier this week for negotiations after a recent war of words between the two. A major part of the Biden administration’s climate plan is reportedly being cut over opposition from Manchin.
