Fox News Host Calls Out Trump Rival Haley For Promise To Pardon Trump: Indicates You ‘Still Support Him’
Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt called out ex-Amb. Nikki Haley over her promise to pardon former President Donald Trump, saying it indicates Haley “still supports” Trump.
CNN hosted a town hall with Haley Thursday night, during which she repeated her promise to moderator Jake Tapper:
TAPPER: If he were convicted, would you then pardon him?
HALEY: I said I — I would pardon him, with the simple reason of, you know, when you talk about a pardon, someone’s already been found guilty.
But for me, the last thing we need is an 80-year-old president sitting in jail, because that’s just going to further divide our country. This is no longer about whether he’s innocent or guilty. This is about the fact, how do we bring the country back together? And I am determined to make sure all of this division, all of this chaos goes away. And I think a pardon for him would make all of that go away, and I think it would be healing for the country.
On Friday morning’s edition of Fox & Friends,
Earhardt: Okay, so you said last night. Yeah. When you said last night, you would pardon Donald Trump if he is convicted of a crime. This kind of indicated to me and correct me if I’m wrong, I’m still with him. I’m still friends with him, and I still support him.
Haley: Well, for me, it’s not personal.
I mean, the problem with Joe Biden and Donald Trump is we’ve seen they take all of politics personal. That’s what’s gotten us into this situation with the country where we are, where it’s divided and it’s toxic. Politics is not personal for me. This is about how we move the ball.
I don’t think it will do anybody any good to have an 80-year-old president sitting in jail. I think the way you move our country forward is, yes, I would pardon him so, that we could move on.
We need a new generational leader that’s not going to go and divide America and decide who’s good and who’s bad, who’s right and who’s wrong. We need someone who’s going to take America with solutions so, that our kids feel like they have a country they can be proud of. That should be the goal of all of us, is how we move forward.
And I don’t think moving forward is by making sure that an 80-year-old president sits in jail.
