‘I Should Be in Florida!’ Trump Absolutely Loses it in 8-Minute, Stream of Consciousness Post-Court Rant

Donald Trump raged at Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and others in comments on Monday made outside the courthouse where his hush money trial is currently going on.

Court on Monday was adjourned early to accommodate a juror’s dentist appointment. After court had been adjourned, Trump claimed once again he’s “totally innocent” in a case where he’s facing more than 30 counts related to a hush money payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair.

Bragg alleges that Trump falsified business records to conceal the payment, but the former president has denied any wrongdoing. On Monday, Trump said his payment to former attorney Michael Cohen was simply a “legal expense.”

“They called a payment to a lawyer a legal expense in the books. They didn’t call it construction. They didn’t say you’re building a building,” Trump said. “It was called a payment to a lawyer because, as you know, [Michael] Cohen is a lawyer. He represented a lot of people over the years. I’m not the only one. And [he] wasn’t very good in a lot of ways in terms of his representation, but he represented a lot of people.”

Cohen alleges Trump was fully aware of the reasons behind the payment to Daniels. Cohen is now a disbarred lawyer after having pleaded guilty on bank fraud and other charges. Trump said on Monday Cohen’s charges have “nothing to do” with him.

Trump once again claimed the Manhattan trial is election interference that is keeping him off the campaign trail.

“I should be in Georgia right now. I should be in Florida right now. I should be in a lot of places campaigning right now. Instead I’m sitting here and this trial will go on for a very long time. It’s very unfair,” he said.

Trump added, “People in the court just said to me, I can’t believe it.”

The former president claimed that this supposed strategy to keep him tied up in court is benefitting him.

“This is a Biden witch hunt to keep me off the campaign trail. So far it’s not working because my poll numbers are higher than they’ve ever been,” he said.
