JUST IN: Biden Will Hold First Solo Formal Press Conference Next Week, White House Announces

President Joe Biden will be holding his first formal press conference on Thursday, March 25, the White House announced on Tuesday.
The presser will come on the heels of what the administration is calling a “Help Is Here” tour to tout the passage of the American Rescue Plan. Biden was in Pennsylvania Tuesday to kick off the tour.
The Biden administration was criticized for the president’s lack of press conferences. An analysis by CNN earlier this month noted that Biden has taken longer to officially hold one than the past few presidents, going back several decades.
The president will be sitting down with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos this week for an interview about the covid relief bill.
Axios’ Jonathan Swan said Sunday the president should be doing more “serious sit-down one-on-one interviews” beyond just holding press conferences.
