Lindsey Graham Delivers Wild Defense of Trump on Alleged Catch-and-Kill Scheme: ‘Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tiger Woods’ Did it Too
Senator Lindsey Graham went to bat for former President Donald Trump Sunday with a bizarre defense of the former president’s role in an alleged “catch-and-kill” scheme.
Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union, the South Carolina senator was confronted by anchor Dana Bash about the New York criminal court testimony this week of former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker — who said under oath that he began to “catch-and-kill” negative stories about Trump after the Trump campaign explicitly asked for his help.
“David Pecker, who ran the National Enquirer’s parent company, testified that he paid to catch and kill stories about Trump, specifically to help his presidential campaign,” Bash said. “You don’t have any concerns about that?”
The senator launched into an odd defense of the former president.
“You know, apparently a lot of people do this,” Graham said. “Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tiger Woods. I think the whole thing is a crock.”
Pecker testified this week he entered into a catch and kill deal with Schwarzenegger in 2003, and that he helped Tiger Woods in a similar manner in 2007.
Bash, though, made an obvious rebuttal.
“Obviously, Tiger Woods is not running for president,” Bash said.
“I got it,” Graham said. “I think the whole thing’s BS. I think it’s all BS. Political BS.”
