President Donald Trump’s ambassador to Israel is slamming a report that there are tensions between the commander in chief and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying claims of a rift are “reckless and irresponsible.”

Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor who was confirmed as Trump’s ambassador to Israel last month, took to X Friday to slam the report in Israel Hayom that the relationship between the two leaders has turned cold. Israel Hayom, a right-of-center publication, is a free daily newspaper in Israel and the most widely distributed one in the country. It has long been owned by the Adelsons, who have been some of Trump’s largest political donors in the GOP. Miriam Adelson, who now owns the paper following her husband Sheldon’s passing and is Israel’s richest citizen, also serves as its publisher.

“It’s reckless & irresponsible for press to allege that @POTUS and @IsraeliPM are not getting along,” Huckabee said in his post. “Bibi has spent more time with @realDonaldTrump than I have in past 3 months & I’m his ambassador! The relationship between US & Israel remains STRONG!”

The report — originally written in Hebrew, but later translated to English — suggested that Netanyahu is peeved after being sidelined on talks with Iran and the Houthis in Yemen, as well as other policy talks. In English, the report by Ariel Kahana ran under the headline, “Trump sidelines Netanyahu in Middle East policy as relations deteriorate.”
