WATCH: Nancy Mace Heckled by ‘Daily Show’ Audience After She Says ‘I Haven’t Seen the Evidence’ Against Trump in Georgia Case

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) appeared on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with this week’s guest host Charlamagne Tha God, and got herself some laughs from the audience — except they were at her expense.

Charlamagne’s discussion with Mace touched on several current political topics, mostly the chaos surrounding the ousting of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as Speaker of the House and the election of Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA). Mace stood up for her record while painting herself as a “maverick” who will call out her own party, especially on women’s issues.

Towards the end of her segment though, Mace was asked about the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden and the 91 criminal counts against former President Donald Trump. But her responses got a pretty mocking reaction from the studio audience. Charlamagne asked Mace if she didn’t think the inquiry into Biden was a “waste of time” when there were wars in Israel and Ukraine and other more pressing issues facing the Americans represented by the People’s House:

Mace: Well–

Audience: [LAUGHTER]

Mace: Corruption is a real problem in this country. And I have seen bank accounts–

Audience: [LAUGHTER]

Mace: It is! It is! But I have seen bank accounts of the president’s grandchildren with money directly from communist China. That should not be happening in our country. And it should be exposed for every, for every American to see, and then decide whether or not that’s okay. Whether there’s an impeachment or not, I want people to see the evidence that I’ve seen and make a decision for themselves.

Throughout her explanation, the audience murmured and laughed quietly. Then Charlamagne continued:

Charlamagne: Do you believe the evidence against Donald Trump?

Mace: Which– which evidence?

Charlamagne: I mean, exactly.

Mace: What are we talking about?

Charlamagne: Pick one. Pick one of the 91 charges.

Mace: Which, I mean, which… Which indictment? I mean, which one?

Charlamagne: It’s a lot of them. Let’s just say Georgia.

Mace: Georgia, that would be with the election fraud. I haven’t seen the evidence yet.

Charlamagne: [LAUGHS]

Mace: I haven’t seen it!

In the background, the audience also laughed. Pretty hard.
