Amy Schumer’s One Direction Parody Roasts Men Who Claim Women Don’t Need Makeup

 

“Wipe it off” is the first chorus to Amy Schumer’s One Direction parody about songs telling women they’re more beautiful without the entrapments of the beauty industry. “Put it on” is the refrain from thereon out, and you can pretty much fill in what happened in between.

“It’s like I tore up a shag carpet assuming there were hardwood floors underneath, but it was just dirty linoleum,” one boy band member tells her in the video from last night’s show. “These are just metaphors, girl. But they are about your face.”

In short: the boast, currently enjoying pop culture favor, that men value women more sans makeup is as hollow as the previous ideal requiring women to spend hundreds of dollars and hours of their day putting the stuff on. Get it, via Comedy Central:
