Blue Check Twitter Mocks Tom Price’s Resignation: ‘Too Much Baggage, Overhead’

Once President Donald Trump announced on Friday afternoon that he would decide sometime Friday evening about his fate, it seemed like just a matter of time before Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price would be out of a job. Price opted not to wait for the axe to fall, and he resigned his post — in a decision announced moments after the President’s remarks.
Price has been under fire for spending exorbitant sums of taxpayer money on private planes. He offered to pay a portion of the money back, but this did little to quiet the widespread public criticism.
Blue check Twitter was quick to weigh-in on the latest Friday departure from the Trump administration; following Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Chief of Staff Reince Pribus, and Chief Strategist Steve Bannon. Here’s a sampling of the reaction from politicians, journalists, and other verified Twitter users. (Warning: prepare for some puns ranging in quality from middling to Cillizza.)
.@SecPriceMD, you still owe the American people an explanation and a check for your mishandling of taxpayer dollars. https://t.co/tbKLtF8X0u

Whether it was the millions who would’ve lost #healthcare or the millions lost on private flights, #TomPrice put Americans last at @HHSGov.

Tom Price abused the public trust. He sabotaged the #ACA. Looks like he paid the price.

Sec. Price may have resigned, but the American people deserve to know just how much of their tax dollars he and other Cabinet officials are wasting on excessive travel & perks https://t.co/vcK8KsVHEk

Couldn’t have happened to a smarmier, more dishonest partisan, but there are others in this administration who are Price’s equal.

Next person that does a bad Tom Price pun on my timeline is being sent to customer service for a price check.

If you look past the grifting, mismanagement of ACA implementation, and repeated failure to repeal the ACA, Price was good at his job.

The Price is wrong.
I’ll show myself out.

Tom Price is a good example of why you shouldn’t trust doctors who look like they could play an evil veterinarian in a Beethoven sequel
