President Obama Officially Endorses Hillary Clinton for President
After President Obama‘s meeting with Bernie Sanders today, the Hillary Clinton campaign posted an online video of the president officially endorsing her for president.
Obama proudly declared “I’m with her” and said, “I know how hard this job can be. That’s why I know Hillary will be so good at it. In fact, I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office.”
He also took a moment to praise Sanders and said in the video that the message he has been pushing the entire campaign is one that should be strongly embraced by Democrats.
It was unclear how long it would take for Obama to officially come out for Clinton, given lingering objections from Sanders supporters, but it’s pretty clear now Obama wants the Democrats unified sooner rather than later.
The president will be campaigning with Clinton in Wisconsin next week.
UPDATE –– 2:25 pm EST: Donald Trump already tweeted his reaction:
Obama just endorsed Crooked Hillary. He wants four more years of Obama—but nobody else does!
