BREAKING: Senate Committee Approves Syria Resolution Authorizing Military Action

Following Tuesday’s hearing the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has approved the resolution that will allow President Obama to use military force against Syria in a 10-7 vote. Testimony is currently under way in the House.
Three Republican senators, Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), Sen Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) voted “yes” on the resolution, while two Democrats, Sen. Tom Udall (D-NM) and Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) voted “no.” Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), who now holds John Kerry’s old seat, voted “present.”
The other five “no” votes were Senators James Risch (R-ID), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Ron Johnson (R-WI), John Barrasso (R-WY) and Rand Paul (R-KY).
The other seven “yes” votes were Senators Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Ben Cardin (D-MD), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Chris Coons (D-DE), Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Tim Kaine (D-VA).
