Brian Kilmeade: Fox & Friends ‘Brand New Show’ with Hasselbeck

During an interview with TVNewser promoting his new book, George Washington’s Secret Six: The Spy Ring That Saved the American Revolution, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade said that doing the morning variety show with new co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck was like doing a “brand new show.”

“She’s totally different,” he said. “It’s like a brand new show, brand new set, we’ve added a lot of things to the format, taking some things out of the format. Gretchen’s doing great at two, having a lot of success in every way. It’s just brand new, a brand new challenge all over again…it’s fun.”

After years as the host who sat between Kilmeade and Steve Doocy on the Fox couch, Gretchen Carlson left the show last month to host her own afternoon news hour. Hasselbeck came over from ABC’s The View, where she was often the lone conservative voice among the five hosts.

Kilmeade added that if he were in charge, he might cover some more international affairs on F&F.

“I’m fascinated by that stuff, but I also know that America is concerned about what’s happening in America first,” he said. “I wouldn’t change anything about Fox, but in terms of my passion, I put that up there. International affairs before domestic affairs.”
