Calls For Bill O’Reilly to Be Fired Intensify After Maxine Waters Comment

Following Bill O’Reilly‘s comments about Representative Maxine Waters‘s hair on Fox & Friends this morning, calls for his termination have intensified. His “James Brown wig” observation has been called sexist and racist.
The talk of firing came from everyone from famed Hollywood producers…
Dear @FoxNews: Bill O’Reily is racist and should be removed from your airwaves. Vile. https://t.co/YMyKa59I18
— Jordan Horowitz (@jehorowitz) March 28, 2017
…to established hosts from other cable news channels…
Does @FoxNews have a standards and practices department? Because there’s not a news organization I know of where this could fly. https://t.co/OPGj6Y09dF

I seem to recall Don Imus being fired for similar commentary about black women; though in that case, not about a *member of congress.* https://t.co/2d2ldkCv92

…to everyday people:
Tell FOX NEWS TO TERMINATE BILL O’REILLY

Here’s the senior art critic from New York Magazine:
Fire @FoxNews Bill O’Reilly “I didn’t hear a word” Rep. Maxine Waters said because he was focused on “the James Brown wig.” 100% Racist! rt pic.twitter.com/10XaO7TGti

This one isn’t surprising, but it’s getting traction nonetheless:
Fire the shit out of this smug & racist asshole. https://t.co/2oNodMUM7K

For his part, O’Reilly has released an apology.
