On Friday, former CNN anchor and NBC News correspondent Campbell Brown announced that she would be joining Facebook to join its News Partnership teams. Brown made the announcement, appropriately enough, on her Facebook page:
“This is a different role for me,” she wrote, “but one where I will be tapping my newsroom experience to help news organizations and journalists work more closely and more effectively with Facebook.” She will be assisting Facebook’s partners by working “to help them understand how Facebook can expand the reach of their journalism,” but didn’t really explain what that means.
In a separate post on The 74, her education news site, Brown added that she will be leaving her editorial role there, but will remain on the site’s board. CEO and co-founder Romy Drucker also wrote her own post saluting Brown as she leaves her day to day work there.
