Cory Booker, And One Of His Twitter Followers, Plan To Live Off Food Stamps For A Week
On Sunday, Newark Mayor Cory Booker offered a challenge to one of his Twitter followers: That they both live off food stamps for a week. The deal stemmed from a quote Booker tweeted, which didn’t sit well with the follower who’s a self-described “Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR), fighting against any and all forms of socialism/communism.”
Booker tweeted this little nugget of wisdom: “‘An imbalance between rich and poor is the oldest and most fatal ailment of all republics’ Plutarch ancient Greek historian (c. 46 – 120 CE)”
And the following exchange ensued:

Indeed, they did get an offer to referee — from the University of Bridgeport, which is holding the “UB SNAP Food Challenge” next month.

The university’s challenge takes place the first week of December.
