Creationist Complains About Fox’s Cosmos: They Refuse to Acknowledge Creationism

Cosmos, Fox’s reboot of the classic Carl Sagan series, has become the newest battleground in the culture wars, and this week Danny Faulkner, a creationist and astronomy professor, bemoaned how the show is biased against scientists of faith and argued that there are plenty of people in the scientific community who consider creationism a valid theory. Faulkner said, “Creationists aren’t even on the radar screen for them, they wouldn’t even consider us plausible at all.”

Host Janet Mefferd remarked there are “so many scientists” who reject the idea of evolution and so, for equal time, they should allow creation scientists to say their piece, “but that’s not even allowed.” Faulkner added, “Consideration of special creation is definitely not open for discussion, it would seem.”

Host Neil deGrasse Tyson railed against scientific ignorance in a recent late night appearance, saying, “If you don’t know science in the 21st century, just move back to the cave, because that’s where we’re going to leave you as we move forward.”
