Daily Show Spends Entire Episode Tearing Into NRA

Daily Show host Trevor Noah devoted an entire episode Tuesday night to ribbing the NRA.

Describing the NRA’s endorsement for Donald Trump, Noah observed that the match made sense — given that both Trump and NRA’s Executive VP Wayne LaPierre achieved success by “stoking apocalyptic fears with deranged rhetoric.”

In a subsequent segment, Daily Show correspondent Desi Lydic travelled to Louisville for the NRA convention. Lydic wryly observed that an event devoted to untrammeled, unconstrained exercise of constitutional rights presented myriad obstacles to a member of the press, including keeping her and cameramen in a circumscribed “first amendment zone.” (Granted, Lydic was armed with only a facsimile of the Constitution and not a press credential.)

“Any lunatic can walk into a Wal-Mart and buy a camera,” she noted.
