Darrell Issa Calls Upon Gruber to Testify on ‘Transparency’ Comments
House Oversight Chair Darrell Issa (R-CA) has sent a letter to embattled MIT professor Jonathan Gruber requesting that he testify next month about his prior comments on Obamacare.
Videos of Gruber suggesting the health care law passed only because of a “lack of transparency” and “the stupidity of the American voters” have come under massive scrutiny the last two weeks. Gruber was a paid consultant to the federal government during the authoring of the law.
Issa sent the letter Thursday, specifically requesting the economist testify December 9 as part of a hearing that will “examine the transparency failures related to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.”
