Delta Airlines Grounds All Domestic Flights Due to ‘Automation Issues’
Delta Airlines grounded all of their flights on Sunday due to “automation issues” that caused a major outage in their computer systems.
The Federal Aviation Administration released an advisory statement saying that Delta was dealing with a series of technical difficulties that required a nationwide ground stop. International flights were not affected by the grounding.
“Delta teams are expeditiously working to fix a systems outage that has resulted in departure delays for flights on the ground,” Delta said in a statement. “Flights in the air remain unaffected. Delta apologizes to customers for the inconvenience.”
The company has announced that their IT department is addressing the situation, though it is unclear when they expect it will be resolved.
Delta apologizes to customers for the inconvenience and will provide updates as they become available on https://t.co/QS4ugj8hOa.
