Dick Morris Shuts Down Anti-Clinton PAC After Receiving No Money
On Monday, former Bill Clinton aide turned-conservative-pundit, Dick Morris, refused a Federal Election Commission request that he change the name of his Just Say No To Hillary PAC. On Wendesday, Morris took a drastic left turn by calling the PAC quits after it failed to raise any money.
The FEC asked for the name change earlier this year, citing a federal law that forbids committees from including a candidate’s name in its title. PAC counsel Cleta Mitchell wrote a stalwart letter defending the organization’s name, saying it could use Hillary Clinton‘s name because the PAC “clearly and unambiguously shows opposition to the candidate by including its name.”
A mere two days later, Morris submitted the PAC’s termination report, showing that in 21 months, it failed to raise a single dollar.
Morris formerly worked as Bill Clinton’s 1996 campaign manager, until a prostitution scandal forced him to resign. He has since acted as an analyst for Fox News, and a contributor to various media outlets.
