Fox News’ Chris Wallace: Democratic Party’s Left Wing Has ‘Fox Derangement Syndrome’
Fox News’ Chris Wallace reacted to his network being banned from the Democratic 2020 primary debates by saying that the Left has “Fox Derangement Syndrome.”
Brian Kilmeade spoke to his fellow Fox host on his radio show Thursday, asking him what he thought about how Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tom Perez is barring the network from their party’s incoming debates. Wallace noted that Perez is justifying the move with The New Yorker‘s deep dive into the connection between Fox and President Donald Trump, but he called it a “mistake” if the DNC intends to ignore Fox’s audience.
“The idea that you’re going to sit there and cut yourself off from that,” Wallace said, “we would’ve done a responsible, fair job with tough questions.”
As Wallace and Kilmeade went over Trump’s retaliatory threat to not debate anyone on the “fake news networks,” Wallace said Democrats “may rue the day” to lose a chance to go head to head with the president. As Kilmeade blasted The New Yorker for their “flat-out” untrue profile on Fox, Wallace said “I think that the Left wing of the party – you know how we talk about ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ or Obama? – I think that the Left wing of the Democratic Party there is Fox derangement syndrome.”
“Even though they know that Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier and I would give a fair debate, the idea of anything with Fox News presents the Democratic debate and they were just looking for an excuse and the New Yorker article gave it to them.”
