Dana Perino On Maureen Dowd: ‘Must Be Hard To Be That Angry All The Time’

First lady Michelle Obama received a lot of criticism from predictable sources on the right and the left for her recent family vacation to Spain. But during an appearance on Fox and Friends this morning, former White House Press Secretary under George W. Bush and Fox News Analyst Dana Perino defended the First Lady’s trip, adding that she should be “off limits.”

This line of thinking comes after Democratic Analyst Kirsten Powers got some attention for claiming on Geraldo At Large that the first lady’s trip was “absolutely tone deaf” given the current fiscal state of the country. Fox an Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade picked up on that theme, and Perino noted a recent column by Maureen Dowd that appeared this weekend in the NY Times that was also critical of the Ms. Obama’s trip overseas.

But where Perino defended the First Lady’s trip, she turned the tables on Dowd, saying “It must be hard to be that angry all the time about everything.” Zing!
