Fox’s Ed Henry Goes After US Airways for Getting Bumped from First Class
Plenty of people travel on Memorial Day, and on occasion, politicians and members of the press can be considered “people,’ so naturally Fox News Chief White House Correspondent Ed Henry got rather ticked off today when he found out that he had been bumped from his first-class seat in order to accommodate a government official who needed a last-minute first-class seat for the same flight out of D.C.
And as Henry learned in his headache of an adventure today, it turns out that this is something that’s done all the time to help out government officials.
Henry got in a Twitter back-and-forth with US Airways customer service to complain about the incident.
@USAirways so you bump folks out of first class seats to DC when you have govt officials who need last-min first class tickets? #really

@USAirways so if government officials want last-min first class paid for by taxpayers you bump your existing customers? #lastflightonusair

@USAirways it's my travel, not third party. So you do give Govt officials last min first class tickets &bump loyal customers? V interesting
— Ed Henry (@edhenryTV) May 26, 2014
@USAirways just saying — folks should know before flying your airline you give preference to govt officials over loyal customers
— Ed Henry (@edhenryTV) May 26, 2014
And Henry kept going, even revealing what he learned about this apparently regular policy.
. USAirways thanks, filled out form. now plan on letting a lot of people know about your system of first class seats for govt officials

And that’s today’s lesson, boys and girls: if you’re a major company, don’t do anything that pisses off a reporter for a major network news outlet…
