French Police Officer Killed, ISIS Claims Responsibility

france attackA French police captain and and an employee of the Interior Ministry were stabbed to death in the city of Magnanville earlier tonight.

According to The New York Times, the captain was fatally stabbed outside his house, and the killer went inside to where a woman and his son were. He held both of them hostage.

Authorities arrived on the scene and fatally shot the killer. The captain’s son was rescued, but the woman had been murdered too.

Multiple news reports have noted that the killer allegedly shouted “Allahu akbar” and pledged allegiance to ISIS before the authorities took him out.

The official ISIS media outlet Amaq was quick to issue a statement in which the terrorist group took credit, saying, “Islamic state fighter kills deputy chief of the police station in the city of Les Mureaux and his wife with blade weapons near Paris.”
