Game of Thrones Creator to Fans Worried He’ll Die Before Finishing Series: ‘F*ck You’

Generally, George R.R. Martin is patient with his fans anxious for him to finish the final two books of A Song of Ice and Fire, the series behind the hit TV series Game of Thrones. But in a video interview with Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger, he lost it when asked about the possibility that he might not finish, because, y’know, he’s, uh, old?

“I find that question pretty offensive, people speculating about my death and my health,” the 65-year-old author said definitely. “So fuck you to those people.”

In case the point didn’t come across, he flipped off the camera.

Martin’s books are notorious for taking forever to be published: the waiting period between A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons spanned six years, spawning legions of anxious nerds and the famous Neil Gaiman essay, “George R.R. Martin Is Not Your Bitch.”
