Glenn Beck: Seeing Trump Supporters Is ‘Like Walking Into Ferguson’

Screen Shot 2016-02-26 at 1.09.13 PMGlenn Beck is not backing down on his criticism of Donald Trump and his supporters, and has taken to lobbing some of his most incendiary attacks at the mogul’s fans yet… likening them to “Brownshirts,” “Obama supporters,” and the sort of people you might run into in Ferguson, Missouri or Baltimore.

In a video apparently recorded the night of the Nevada Republican caucus, a weary-sounding Beck lamented that he was “under attack for doing what we think is the right thing.” Specifically, his steadfast determination to push back against Trump was causing consternation among his business partners and, as a result of complaints from Trump supporters, stations were threatening to cancel his show.

After Trump supporters stormed into a hall where Beck was speaking in Nevada, Beck described the throng as “rude, vile, nasty” and accused The Donald of “grooming Brownshirts.”

“The Trump supporters, they’re Brownshirts,” Beck said. “I’ve never witnessed anything like I saw today, it was just, it was grotesque and sad that Americans… It’s like these people are treating people like Obama supporters treated us, just the worst of the worst Obama supporters. It was like walking into Ferguson or walking into Baltimore. There’s no reason, there’s no common decency, there’s nothing. It’s just bizarre.”

Beck has come out in fervent favor of Ted Cruz, abstaining from food to show support for him and suggesting that God allowed Antonin Scalia to die in order to boost Cruz’s standing. He has relentlessly mocked Trump on his shows, calling the real estate mogul a “psychopath.” Trump, for his part, has referred to Beck as an “idiot,” who “cries on television all the time.”
