Glenn Greenwald: The Democratic Party ‘Has Collapsed as a National Political Force’

Fox’s Tucker Carlson spoke with Glenn Greenwald in an interview that aired tonight about the problems of the Democratic party.

Last week DNC chair candidate Tom Perez walked back a comment he made about the primaries being “rigged,” but Greenwald picked up on that to make a broader argument about how the Democrats aren’t fully learning the lessons of the 2016 election.

He told Carlson that Democrats have lost a lot and the party “has collapsed as a national political force in the United States.”

And while the Republicans did their autopsy right away, Greenwald added, Democrats are too busy blaming external forces and “denouncing Donald Trump” to do any serious self-reflecting.

He argued that Democrats can go after Trump all they want––and a lot of their attacks may be merited––but it means nothing if they can’t convince people that they’ll make their lives better.
