Gretchen Carlson: I’m Used to Constant Criticism Working at Fox News

Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson appears in the new Christian film Persecuted, and some reviews of the film have pointed out––with some derision––the inclusion of a Fox Newser at the start of the movie. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Carlson dismisses all the criticism as just a proxy for how much people hate Fox News.

She said, “It gets tiring to constantly be the target of criticism. I was used to that after being Miss America, and I’m certainly used to it working at Fox News.”

Carlson charged that all this criticism of her involvement in the movie is “just a very easy way for them to take a dig at something that is constantly criticized, which is Fox News.” And she’s barely in the movie to begin with.

As for the film, Carlson believes it hammers home an important message that, in her view, there is “less tolerance” for Christianity and Christian symbols in the United States.

Carlson was also asked about her controversial Festivus comments, in which she voiced outrage over a Festivus pole being set up in states alongside nativity scenes. Carlson laughed about it and saying that most people who criticize her “have never watched my show.”
