Hannity Assures Fox & Friends That Trump Won’t Sack Special Counsel: ‘There’s Not Gonna Be Any Firing of Mueller’
President Donald Trump‘s best TV pals all got together on Monday morning as Sean Hannity made a rare early appearance on Fox & Friends.
The basic message, of course, revolved around the idea that everything is so totally fine in Trump-world, despite all of the turnover in the White House, and indications that the Russia probe is heating up.
But the conversation took an interesting turn when Steve Doocy and Sean Hannity — the president’s two most boisterous TV backers this side of Jeanine Pirro — discussed the notion of Trump possibly firing special counsel Robert Mueller.
And both were clearly opposed.
“What do you make of Robert Mueller, and the suggestion that the president is about to fire him?” Doocy said. “You don’t think that’s a good idea, do you?”
Hannity made sure to not that Trump never said he was consdering giving Mueller the ax.
“[I]f I was advising the president I’d say, let this investigation go forward,” Hannity said. “We’re probably coming to the end of it, if I had to render a guess. And it would be in his best interest probably not to comment.”
And then he made his prediction.
“I would argue we’re getting to the end of the process,” Hannity said. “There’s not gonna be any firing of Mueller.”
There it is. On the record. Hannity says Mueller will be allowed to see his investigation through to the finish.
