‘I Had Not the Slightest Idea’: Biden Tells The View About Surprise Medal

Yesterday, President Barack Obama gave his VP, Joe Biden, a big surprise and an even bigger honor when he used a scheduled tribute to present the man with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Biden appeared on ABC’s The View today and expanded on how much of a surprise it really was, saying he hadn’t “the slightest idea” it would happen but Obama “sure as hell” surprised him.

He told the story of his initial confusion when walking into the room and even said he still didn’t think he deserved the honor at all, but was grateful to have it.
