ISIS Claims Responsibility for Berlin Christmas Truck Attack

isis-flag-3The jihadist terrorist group Islamic State put out a statement Tuesday claiming responsibility for the truck attack that killed a dozen people at a Berlin Christmas market Monday.

According to the statement put out by ISIS’s Amaq News Agency, the as-of-yet unidentified attacker was a “soldier of the Islamic State.”

Earlier this year, ISIS likewise claimed responsibility for the truck attack in Nice, France on Bastille Day that left 86 dead. The driver in that terrorist attack– Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel— prepared for several months with the help of fellow ISIS sympathizers.

German police arrested a Pakistani refugee in connection with the attack Monday, but have since released the man and announced he was no longer a suspect. The actual perpetrator is still at large.
