It Looks Like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Will Be on Broadway Soon
Broadway shows are having a moment, everyone. First, you know, Hamilton. (That’s all the explanation you need. Hamilton.) Now, J.K. Rowling‘s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child seems to be coming stateside after a successful launch in London’s West End. It is in talks to hit the Great White Way in spring of 2018, according to Us Weekly.

Rowling’s play, which was written along with Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, caused a stir with every new revelation over the past few years. From the casting of an actress of color to play brainy heroine Hermione Granger to the release of the script as a sort-of book, every part of Rowling’s return to the Potterverse was dissected and reviewed.
It’s likely that Cursed Child’s run at Ambassador Theatre Group’s Lyric Theatre in NYC will be no different.
Of course, nothing is entirely certain, but the elements that are being discussed “in talks” seem to be going well. Per Us Weekly, Rowling said this:
I’m delighted we are one step closer in bringing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to Broadway and very excited by the proposed plans.
American Potterheads, rejoice!
