#IWillProtectYou: U.S. Servicemembers Reassure Muslim Girl Scared Over Trump’s Rhetoric
A Muslim mother living in Texas posted a message on Facebook earlier this month about how her daughter was seriously fearful of her safety after hearing “that someone with yellow hair named Trump wanted to kick all Muslims out of America.”
Yes, Melissa Yassini recounted in a Facebook post how her daughter Sofia reacted to hearing Donald Trump talking about Muslims.
“She had began collecting all her favorite things in a bag in case the army came to remove us from our homes,” Yassini said. “She checked the locks on the door 3-4 times.”
Well, over the past few days, this spread around online, and U.S. servicemembers and veterans posted supportive messages to let Sofia know they will protect her:
