House Oversight Committee chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) announced on Twitter that he will postpone the congressional hearing he had planned for this week, where former FBI director James Comey was expected to speak.

Chaffetz’s tweet indicates that Comey wants to consult Robert Mueller, the special prosecutor heading the special counsel that is looking into whether President Trump‘s 2016 campaign was aligned with Russia during the election. Comey is expected to testify about his recent firing before the Senate Intelligence Committee in the coming days.

A new report from CNN tonight says that Mueller has been briefed on “the contents of some of the memos that former FBI Director James Comey kept to document his conversations with President Donald Trump.”
