Jay Leno Tells Joy Behar “I Got Screwed” (And So Did Conan)

In a green room chat after her appearance on The Tonight Show last night, Joy Behar and her HLN got some content as well.

And Leno didn’t hold back on admitting Conan O’Brien “got screwed” by NBC. But, according to Leno, so did he.

“Conan got screwed. I got screwed,” said Leno to Behar while sitting next to each other on the couch. “I mean this is TV. The reason showbiz pays a lot of money is so when you get screwed you got something left over.”

Also: “Conan was treated terribly, and I was treated terribly, and guys make a decision. I think Conan will come back and he’ll be strong.”

Those who are Team Conan (or fairly objective) will find some fault with Leno’s version of events – now that he’s back as host of The Tonight Show, it’s hard to see how exactly he was screwed.

One thing this shows is the smart way HLN and CNN have used the web – Behar was a guest on Tonight Show, filmed a short video backstage, put it on her website and suddenly it’s content for HLN, and by extension, CNN.
