Jose Antonio Vargas Released After Being Held by Border Patrol

Journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, an undocumented immigrant who was detained by border patrol in Texas earlier today, was just released from the border patrol facility he was placed in.

Vargas was detained in McAllen, Texas this morning, where he had traveled to to show support for the suffering children who ended up there after crossing the border.

In a statement, Vargas said, “I’ve been released by Border Patrol. I want to thank everyone who stands by me and the undocumented immigrants of south Texas and across the country. Our daily lives are filled with fear in simple acts such as getting on an airplane to go home to our family.”
