Khashoggi’s Editor Karen Attiah Calls on Congress to Investigate Trump and Kushner’s Ties to Saudi Arabia
Washington Post Global Opinions editor Karen Attiah is demanding a congressional investigation of the Trump family’s business ties with Saudi Arabia in light of the president’s decision on Jamal Khashoggi.
Attiah made waves on Tuesday when she scorched the White House in an emotional column which said Trump will be stained forever by failing to hold the Saudis accountable for Khashoggi’s murder inside their embassy.
Since the president is ignoring CIA findings that supposedly connect the Saudi Royal Family to the order for Khashoggi’s death, Attiah penned a Twitter thread on Wednesday, calling for the CIA to declassify all the information they have on the matter, and saying the financial connection between Trump and the Saudis must be looked into.

It’s easy to get lost in the grief and outrage over Trump siding Saudi regime that thinks nothing of butchering peaceful journalists in consulates.

4) Khalid bin Salman, Saudi Ambassador to D.C. (brother of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman) was named by the CIA in the plot to lure #Khashoggi away from Washington. He was part of the cover-up, spreading falsehoods to reporters.
He should be formally expelled from Washington.

Trump’s choice to side with the Saudis has drawn bipartisan outrage, even as he defends the decision on the grounds of “America First” and by recycling Saudi talking points about how Khashoggi was an “enemy of the state.”
