Limbaugh Blasts Colbert Pick: ‘CBS Has Just Declared War on the Heartland of America’

Rush Limbaugh is less than pleased about Stephen Colbert moving from Comedy Central to The Late Show after David Letterman retires next year, saying on his show today that “CBS has just declared war on the heartland of America.”

Limbaugh said this is a sign that the networks have just decided to be blatantly against traditional America in their programming, explaining, “No longer is comedy going to be a covert assault on traditional American values, conservatives––now it’s just going to be wide out in the open. What this hire means is a redefinition of what is funny and a redefinition of what is comedy.”

Limbaugh also trashed Colbert as a “partisan, so-called comedian” whose comedy is a departure from the kind of thing Letterman and Johnny Carson did back in the day.
