Manafort Spox Releases Statement on CNN Wiretapping Report, Says Intercepts Should Be Released

A spokesperson for Paul Manafort has released a statement in response to CNN’s report yesterday saying he was wiretapped before and after the 2016 election.

CNN’s report said that Manafort “became the subject of an FBI investigation that began in 2014,” was discontinued, and then restarted after the FBI got “a new FISA warrant that extended at least into early this year.”

The statement says decries leaks and says of the report, “if true, it is a felony to reveal the existence of a FISA warrant.”

The statement calls on the DOJ IG to conduct a leak investigation and requests that the DOJ “release any intercepts involving him and any non-Americans.”
