Meghan McCain and Keith Olbermann Battle Over Who Hurt America More: Bin Laden or Trump
This was the moment when Meghan McCain became a View host.
It’s been a bit of a rough start for the former Fox News personality, as she’s tried to find her footing on ABC’s signature political debate show. But McCain hit her stride Friday morning in a heated debate with GQ Special Correspondent Keith Olbermann.
View host Sunny Hostin questioned Olbermann about a Tweet in which he posited that President Donald Trump and his family have done more damage to America than Osama Bin Laden and ISIS put together.
Why do you separate yourself from the terrorists, Dondi? You and your family have done more damage to America than Bin Laden + ISIS combined https://t.co/TaKeIP6RFt

Olbermann stood by his Tweet. And Meghan McCain was livid.
“Three thousand people died on 9/11,” McCain said. “The comparison is absurd…Can I tell you something? When I hear rhetoric like that — I think [View host] Whoopi [Goldberg] and I are in agreement that we want Americans to come together. And rhetoric like that is so damagaing.”
Olbermann defended his position.
“The Iraq war was a waste of these people’s lives,” he said. “And it was unnecessary.”
“Do you want President Trump to fail?” McCain fired back. “Do you want America to fail? Because I’m genuinely curious.”
The View cut to commercial at that point. And when the discussion resumed, it was far more civil.
