Movie Company Is Using Medical Marijuana to Promote Film

Clerks and Jersey Girl director Kevin Smith is back with a weird new movie called Tusk. It’s a horror dramedy that involves walruses, and if you’ve seen the trailer, you can tell it looks like a crazy but intriguing film. But to build buzz for Tusk, the distributor A24 is launching a marketing campaign that involves medical marijuana.

See, there’s a medical pot dispensary in California called Buds & Roses, and as part of a deal with A24, will distribute certain strains of marijuana to promote the movie.

They will sell “White Walrus” and “Mr. Tusk” strains of medical marijuana. (And let’s face it, this is a Kevin Smith movie, so getting baked is probably a prerequisite here.)
