MSNBC’s O’Donnell: Trump Doesn’t Have a Case Against NBC
After Donald Trump made some controversial remarks about Mexican immigrant rapists, NBC announced today they’re cutting all their business ties to Trump, meaning they will no longer be airing the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants (Trump runs the Miss Universe Organization). Celebrity Apprentice is expected to continue without Trump
Trump released a lengthy statement this afternoon saying, “Their contract violating closure of Miss Universe/Miss USA will be determined in court.”
Well, that’s when MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell––who’s had plenty to say about Trump in the past––tweeted that Trump has no case:
.@politico No it won't. Networks can and do cancel shows whenever they choose. Trump's lawyers know that.
— Lawrence O'Donnell (@Lawrence) June 29, 2015
.@DylanByers @brianstelter That too is a simple show cancellation by a network. Happens every day.

For what it’s worth, Politico’s Dylan Byers did point something out:
@Lawrence @brianstelter I haven’t seen the contract between Trump & NBCU, have you?

CNBC and MSNBC have already reported on their corporate parent’s decision, and O’Donnell isn’t the only MSNBC host to tweet about Trump. There were these observations from Chris Hayes:
It's getting so that a guy can't go around calling Mexican immigrants a bunch of rapists anymore…
— Christopher Hayes (@chrislhayes) June 29, 2015
The @realDonaldTrump situation is genuinely a nightmare for @Reince.
