MSNBC’s Schultz Comes Under Fire for Alleged Tweet About Holocaust
Ed Schultz came under fire on Monday for reportedly sending out a tweet that appeared to emphasize how gay people were persecuted during the Holocaust, giving the impression they were the ones who were “really” the ones being persecuted.
Here’s the alleged tweet in question:

Mediaite has not independently confirmed the authenticity of the tweet, which was picked up by a number of conservative sites, the point of contention being that Schultz emphasized how gays were persecuted by the Nazis and downplaying the horrors endured by the Jews.
The Drudge Report picked up on the news, and conservative reactions poured in on Twitter. Here’s some of the reaction:
MSNBC HOST: Gays 'really the ones being persecuted in Hitler's Germany'… http://t.co/g7kXpfdc7b

Waiting for Ed Schultz to explain that Irish indentured servants were the real victims of slavery.

Ed Schultz partly right: effeminate gays were persecuted, by hyper-masculine Nazi gay Stormtroopers. http://t.co/23q4OF6Cwx

I didn't think Ed could seem less unstable than when he threatened to burn down 30 Rock. Then gays totes had the Holocaust worst! came along

Does anyone even watch @edshow or @MSNBC? http://t.co/c2MOCHZwDe The gays were the most abused in Holocaust? 6 MILLION JEWS!

Come to think of it, @edshow does bear a striking resemblance to another well known anti-semite. pic.twitter.com/iM5Hgz6L9w

And aside from a report on Talking Points Memo about the outcry, the reported tweet did not get much play from non-conservative news outlets and commentators.
