MTV Will Start Honoring Television During Their Famous Movie Awards

The MTV Movie Awards are one of the more fun shows. They give us viral moment featuring movie stars, but soon, they’ll give us viral moments from television stars, too.

According to CNN, the awards will soon be the MTV Movie and TV Awards. President Chris McCarthy said this:

We’re living in a golden age of content, and great storytelling and characters resonate regardless of whether you’re watching it in a theater or on TV. The new “MTV Movie and TV Awards” will celebrate even more of the brightest, bravest, funniest and most shared films and TV shows resonating across youth culture.

The new-and-improved show will air on May 7 this year and don’t worry, they’re keeping the popcorn trophies.
