New Poll: Americans Hate Trumpcare

Trumpcare, Ryancare — whatever you want to call it — Republican replacements for Obamacare have never been all that popular with the American people. Before an earlier version of the bill was pulled from a House vote, one poll had its support at just 24% of the American public.

Now with the House’s successful (if tortured) passage of Trumpcare 3.0, new polling indicates that Americans haven’t much grown on the legislations.

A new NBC/WSJ poll shows that only 23% of Americans are currently in favor of The America Health Care Act, with just 18% “strongly” in favor. On the other side, meanwhile, 48% of respondents said they were against the bill, with 43% of those respondents saying they felt “strongly.”

The results show that for all the fanfare over Trump’s “win” in the House, the needle of American public opinion has largely remained static. Anyone suspicious of the poll’s findings is welcome to read Mediate’s coverage of GOP town halls over the last two weeks.

The NBC/WSJ health care findings was only the latest in a string of bad polling news. The same study also found that only 29% of Americans approved of the decision to fire James Comey, while a full 78% of Americans favored outsourcing the Russia investigation to an independent commission or special prosecutor.
