Newsweek Apologizes for Posting ‘Insensitive Image’ of Martin Luther King Jr. in Casket

Yesterday Newsweek apologized after rightfully getting serious Twitter blowback for a photo they used in a tweet.
As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported, the photo was of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in his casket.
Bernice King, Dr. King’s daughter, was shocked and disturbed:

The tweet has since been taken down and Newsweek apologized:
Earlier this afternoon we published an opinion piece with an insensitive image of Martin Luther King Jr. We sincerely apologize to the King family for this egregious error.
