‘No!’ Journo Fired Over Charlie Kirk Stuns Jim Acosta With Revelation She Can’t Book TV Hit
Now-former Washington Post columnist Karen Attiah stunned Substack host Jim Acosta when she revealed that since her firing over the shooting of Charlie Kirk, she has not been able to book a “one-on-one” with any television outlet.
Attiah was one of the first of many to be fired or otherwise punished over comments related to the killing of Charlie Kirk. Her termination letter cited several examples:
Your postings on Bluesky (which clearly identifies you as a Post Columnist) about white men in response to the killing of Charlie Kirk do not comply with our policy. For example, you posted: “Refusing to tear my clothes and smear ashes on my face in performative mourning for a white man that espoused violence is…. not the same as violence” and “Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence.”
On Friday’s episode of The Jim Acosta Show, Attiah surprised Acosta by revealing that she has only been able to book appearances on his show and Don Lemon’s YouTube show, then torched television outlets as cowardly for not inviting her on:
JIM ACOSTA: And I just wonder if you could lay out your thoughts on where you are right now and maybe explain a little bit what happened because you were pushed out essentially for what you said about Charlie Kirk.
KAREN ATTIAH: Yeah, and thank you so much. You actually, I think you were actually the first one to reach out. It’s,.
JIM ACOSTA: Oh wow!
KAREN ATTIAH: It actually, I’m still processing, but it’s actually been, I have not been able to land a one-on-one on a major network.
JIM ACOSTA: No!
KAREN ATTIAH: I’ve– You’re the first sub-stock one. I went on with Don Lemon. You guys have been the only ones seemingly brave enough.
JIM ACOSTA: Wow.
KAREN ATTIAH: –To have me on. So I also just want to say thank you. You have no idea how much this means to me. And like, I think it’s just sadly a sign of the times for mainstream media, not just in this moment and the culture of fear, I think, but also where the truth-tellers are finding themselves having to go.
