NYPD Arrests Teen for Threatening Cops Using Emojis
The NYPD arrested a 17-year-old for making threats against police on his Facebook page, using … emojis. Osiris Aristy was arrested last weekend after police were tipped about the posts, which included three gun emojis aimed at a police officer emoji.
According to Gothamist, the complaint said the Facebook posts “caused informant and other New York City police officers to fear for their safety, for public safety, and to suffer alarm and annoyance.”
Here’s the post in question:

A search of Aristy’s home yielded a .38 caliber handgun and 25 grams of marijuana. He is being held on $150,000 bond and was charged with making terrorist threats, possession of drugs, and possession of weapons.
